SPIDER

"In order to be created, a work of art must first make us of the dark forces of the soul" - Albert Camus. The Spider is an ancient symbol of mystery, power, and growth. Just as the Spider weaves a web, we must also weave our own lives. The Spider symbol meaning here serves as a reminder that our choices construct our lives. When the Spider appears to us, it is a message to be mindful of the choices we are making. Spiders give us a way to manipulate our own ways of thinking in order to get an outcome we want. The symbolism of black spiders in particular can be related to the following: twisted love, trickster, hatred, destructive, domination, entrapment, vulnerable, restriction, confinement, fear, danger, and solitary. These are all feelings that Kagura has due to the fact that she was created from apart of Naraku. He trapped her, isolated her from the world, and confined her from ever leaving him. However, Kagura has a mind of her own, and the black spider can also be symbolized with words like: independence, creativity, energy, attack, vengeance, and hostile. These are all things that Kagura wants or is. She seeks independence from the one who controls her. She has a creative mind, she is full of energy and vengeance. She can get very hostile towards others. She is trying to grow and weave her own life. She wants to be free and have rein to create her own web. Although she has the symbol of something like a spider, she is trying to create a better life, unlike the spider symbol of Naraku.
