Gear varies greatly between characters, particularly the default characters that do not need to be unlocked - while equipping Lift Gear with Roxas can give you a weapon that's excellent in aerial combos, Lift Gear may do something entirely different for another character. Be sure to check the stats and abilities of each weapon before you use it! In addition, the weapon types vary greatly, and some have special functions.

Saix wields a two-handed broadsword and takes his power from the moon, so most of his weapons have moon-related names, or other astronomical or astrological terms. Equip Zero Gear to get Lunatic, Saix's weapon from Story Mode and KH2. His Casual Gear gives you Just Desserts, a giant banana. A bit less silly is his Mystery Gear weapon, Bunnymoon, which is bright colors and has a giant crescent moon on the end. (This makes a bit more sense if you know that Japanese tradition sees a rabbit in the moon, instead of the Man in the Moon of western culture. This is also why Sailor Moon was named Usagi, Japanese for rabbit, and it might explain why the weapon reminds me of Sailor Moon, too.) Saix has pretty high HP. He also excels at critical hits, and many of his weapons boost his critical percentage and bonuses a fairly decent amount. Set him up with Ultimate Gear or Zero Gear, some Sight Units, and a Critical Sun ring to make him truly devastating.
