ABILITIES:
Run Away - is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Run Away guarantees escape from a wild Pokémon, negating any trapping move or Ability that would prevent it from escaping.
Flash Fire - is an Ability introduced in Generation III. It makes the Pokémon immune to Fire-Type moves and will activate when hit by one. When activated, the power of the Pokemon's Fire-Type moves is increased by 50%.
Flame Body (Hidden Ability) - is an Ability introduced in Generation III. When a Pokemon with this Ability is hit by a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance that the attacking Pokemon will become burned.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE

Rapidash is an equine Pokemon with slender legs and dark black hooves. It's body is overall a creamy-yellow color with orange and yellow flames starting from the back of it's neck all the way down to it's tail. What makes Rapidash unique to it's first evolutionary stage, Ponyta, is the horn on it's forehead, resembling a unicorn's horn. Rapidash has long pointy ears that are pinkish-red on the inside. It's eyes are red with black pupils.

NAME ORIGIN

You can take the English name Rapidash and break down into three different words. The first word, rapid, simply means fast or quickly. The second, ash, refers to the remains of a fire. The last, dash, refers to moving quickly. All three of these words that are formed within Rapidash make sense for it's character. In the anime during Episode 33, Rapidash is referred to the fastest sprinter int he world of Pokemon with top speeds of over 100 mph. Likewise, the Japanese name, Gallop literally means to gallop which is a form of running by animals with four-hooves. Below are some other translations of the name:
